Each of the Speech Act Calligraphies is an ink drawing accomplished in a single breath. Each work is composed of several sheets, initially superimposed, with only the first having been drawn on by the artist. The ink has penetrated each sheet through capillary action, leaving lighter and lighter traces until it becomes invisible. These works mix Eastern practice and Western philosophy, while the title refers to the linguistic theory of J.L. Austin.

Chaque Speech Act Calligraphy est un dessin à l’encre accompli en une seule expiration. Chacune des œuvres est composée de plusieurs feuilles initialement superposées et dont seule la première a été calligraphiée par l’artiste. L’encre
a transpercé chaque feuille par capillarité, laissant des traces de plus en plus légères jusqu’à l’invisible. Ces œuvres mélangent pratique orientale et philosophie occidentale. Son titre se réfère à la théorie linguistique de John Langshaw Austin.
