In a trance-like state created by calm circular breathing, paint brush in hand, Samyn creates a group of works on paper within a live performance. In a fluent gesture, with each exhalation, he brushes blue color across a sheet of paper in two simple strokes. Over time, the blue becomes a light transparent colour. A white shape is visible like a small fountain in the center of each sheet. The fountain represents limitless abundance and impertinent youth. The myth of the “Fountain of Youth” is presented as a symbol of immortality and everlasting life.

Le pinceau à la main, Fabrice Samyn est à l’œuvre. Dans un état de transe procuré par la ventilation de sa respiration continue, il pose devant nous l’acte créateur. Par un geste originel, le temps d’une expiration, il balaye le bleu du ciel sur le papier aquarelle. Au fur et à mesure que le temps s’estompe, l’azur s’efface pour révéler une transparence aqueuse. Une fois la respiration coupée, le dessin s’achève alors. La fontaine se distingue du fleuve tranquille par ce mouvement incessant et limpide dévalant éternellement et offrant l’image d’une abondance sans limite et d’une impertinente jeunesse. Le mythe de la « Fontaine de Jouvence » est d’ailleurs un symbole d’immortalité et de vie perpétuelle.
