Once here and there, 2010

As the title of this self-portrait suggests, the work attempts to capture several instants, both “here” and “there”. It points towards the realization that a painting can never truly capture a given moment, as the process of painting takes too long and a moment later there is another reality already.

Le titre de cet auto-portrait évoque l’attention répandue dans le temps, l’ici et le lointain, mais ce qui est réel est toujours présent.
