The Slow Flow, 2025
Wood gnawed by beavers, turned by humans 55 x 28 x 28 cm
At the heart of the ecological challenges posed by cohabiting with beavers, what interests me most is the reflection on time
– a central theme in my work – which their presence invites us to consider.
Through the construction of their dams, beavers slow down and spread out the flow of water, thereby strengthening ecosystems.
They also make the soil softer and more ab- sorbent, which helps prevent floods and wildfires.
Shaped as an hourglass from a tree trunk gnawed by beavers, this sculpture reflects on the natural rhythms that sustain resilience within fragile ecosystems, both external and internal.
