Suppose You Don’t Exist is a painting of a bare-chested man seen from behind, holding a mirror in his left hand. Peculiarly, nothing is reflected in the mirror. The painting examines the concepts of vision and blindness, potential and erasure, presence and absence. The artist is interested in perception of space and understanding what perspective is. The work’s title refers to a poem by Omar Khayyam (quatrains ruba’iyat).

Suppose You Don’t Exist est une peinture représentant un homme torse nu, vu de dos, portant un miroir dans la main gauche. De façon inattendue, rien ne se reflète dans ce miroir. Cette toile parle autant de vision que d’aveuglement, de potentialité que d’effacement, de présence que d’absence. Les questions de point de vue et de perception de l’espace sont régulièrement abordés par l’artiste. Le titre fait référence à un poème d’Omar Khayyam (quatrains ruba’iyat).
